When I was young, had a Beautiful Blue bird nesting in a small bush. There was a charming nest and laid 3 eggs perfect. Me and my sister, besides my grandmother, to walk to Bush's day and check in each of the eggs. Born wonderfully and we watched them grow every day was so beautiful! Unfortunately, the mother left the nest. Now, 7 years later still the abandoned nest and has deteriorated, still no birds. How can I encourage new birds to come to my yard (but not use that old nest?) It is too cold where I live (in addition several feet of snow), but a few days ago I saw some beautiful finches in a tree. I went a little soft wool off if they were making a nest, but has not been touched, and small bread crumbs are still there too. Is it just the wrong season? What can I do to encourage the animals and birds to my garden? I live in the Midwest on the road. Do I have to buy a bird feeder? Or I can use the seeds or bread?
