The birds of paradise orange flower?
How old seeds of this plant was taken just before the flowers. Also what are the conditions nessesary for abundant flowers. This is the sterilization reginae. (not sure of the correct scientific spelling) Thanks for the answers!
Anywhere 7 to 8 years, under ideal conditions. They Flower in about 7 years of age with at least 8 to 10 leaves.I say that the ideal conditions as it may take more time to flower in a family atmosphere. I have two that began last year after 8 years blooms. They both had 3 flowers. I am hoping she is old enough to flower This Year. They love heat and sun, but be careful during the summer months from 11:00-2:00 when the sun gets Very Hot. They also have The Strelitzia alba (White Flowers), which has not blossomed yet. I think it will bloom this year, as it is almost 10 feet high and tons of leaves. Do not give up. Let the root bound as this helps to flourish. Wait til you break the pot is open. After moving to a larger container. They are easy to divide the time you have a good machete to cut the roots. I usually use a saw to reciprocate without any problems. During the warmer months give a mixture of dilute to grow rapidly or Miracle Grow.
