Calcium is an important component of most soils and minerals found in soil are mostly calcium compounds with other substances. Calcium soil is necessary for plant functions properly and aids in the production of healthy fruits and flowers.
Some of the capabilities that include ground calcium the activity of enzymes for absorption of other nutrients, formation and proper cell division, increased metabolic activities, the disintegration starch and nitrate uptake. Without soil calcium plants tend to lose their color, are short lived and produce little or no fruit.
Many fertilizers available today make use of calcium and calcium-rich salts to neutralize the soil and make them less acidic. Calcium soil is especially important to reduce the pH and acidity associated. It is often recommended the inclusion of up to 40 A-50% calcium in any additions to the account of its deficiency on the ground. The resulting plants will have stronger roots and better growth of soil calcium deficiency. Besides this, calcium also helps regulate the flow of water and air in the soil for proper absorption by plant cells.
In order to use all available nutrients efficiently, plants need phosphorus and micronutrients in the soil. These substances are transported with water through all parts of the plant and assist in the development of healthy leaves and roots. Soil calcium also helps reduce the need for nitrogen. Nitrogen is important for the decomposition of organic matter.
The most widely known calcium compound is calcium sulfate or gypsum. Gypsum helps to increase the calcium content in the soil and protects plants and trees in winter. Calcium in soil is caused by feeding limestone.
People eat green leafy vegetables to increase their level of blood calcium. However, some vegetables may be a victim of calcium deficiency and can not provide an adequate amount of calcium you need. Some signs of calcium deficiency include tip burn in lettuce and Blossom-end rot in tomatoes.

What is a rare and Beautiful Plant?
My mom is really into gardening and want to get their share of unique Flower Seed for the day of the mother. Can anyone think of something that is nice, but probably will not have (which is actually a bit of an expert)?
