Indoor ornamental banana, how to transplant mature buds without killing the tree?
I have a beautiful ornamental Banana Tree which is about 5 Years Old and is about 1.5 meters tall. The tree is in a huge pot in my room. Occasionally, new shoots (trees) grow in the big tree, but most of these die. But recently, two stems seems that they are alone and have grown to about 30 cm. I want to transplant of these, but I fear that can kill the big tree in the process. My experience of outdoor banana is that once the main Fruit Tree, once is never and I cut it down and allow the fire to be the next dominant tree. I do not want to lose my main ornamental tree, but it seems that is the shame of the shoots are just dying well. I will be grateful for any advice.
The ramifications, young llamas can be removed and replanted. Since they are encapsulated, leaving out of the water for a couple of days to dry soil, then using a trowel or digging through your fingers between the puppy and the mother is expected since they are so big that they have completely separated from parents already. Try to work with the puppy, if not going to use the trowel to cut the roots and pry it out. Bananas grow from bulbs, which is the basis of hard lumps of banana. The roots will grow back, even if damaged. Once you have removed the pups fill holes with fresh potting soil to the mother plant and then pot of babies on their own. Water mom and her pups, then you should be golden:) You should not hurt at all parents. I've done this with several of my ornamental plants and not lost any. Normally, no dwarf banana fruit, but it is possible that they will.
